**miR-206 inhibitor** (also known as anti-miR-206 or antagomiR-206) refers to a class of chemically modified antisense oligonucleotides designed to specifically bind and inhibit the mature microRNA-206 (miR-206). miR-206 is a muscle-enriched microRNA (myomiR) that is also aberrantly expressed in various non-muscle tissues and cancers, where it regulates key cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and drug resistance. By sequestering miR-206, these inhibitors restore the expression of its downstream target genes, which include MET, EGFR, BDNF, VEGFA, and Cx43. miR-206 inhibitors are widely utilized as research reagents to investigate the functional roles of miR-206 in preclinical models of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer's disease, pulmonary hypertension, myocardial reperfusion injury, and various malignancies, including breast, colorectal, and lung cancers.
