miR-345-5p mimic is a synthetic RNA oligonucleotide designed to replicate the biological activity of the endogenous microRNA miR-345-5p. In preclinical research, it acts as a tumor suppressor in various cancers, including pancreatic cancer, lung adenocarcinoma, and papillary thyroid carcinoma, by downregulating specific oncogenic targets. In pancreatic cancer, it has been shown to attenuate metastasis by targeting the KLK7/E-Cad/β-Catenin/Rap1 axis. In other contexts, it targets RhoA, SETD7, and SOCS1. It is primarily used as a research tool to study gene regulation and potential therapeutic pathways in oncology and neuropsychiatric disorders like depression.
