miR-363 is a microRNA that acts as a tumor suppressor, specifically targeting the Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2). In the context of multiple myeloma (MM), miR-363 is often downregulated, which correlates with the overexpression of Runx2 and subsequent tumor progression and bone metastasis. By binding to Runx2 mRNA, miR-363 suppresses its expression and inhibits downstream signaling pathways such as Akt/β-catenin/survivin. Research indicates that restoring miR-363 levels can reduce MM cell viability, migration, and tumor growth in vivo, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent for treating multiple myeloma.
