miR-363-3p mimics are synthetic double-stranded RNA molecules designed to replicate the biological activity of the endogenous microRNA miR-363-3p. In the context of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), miR-363-3p acts as a tumor suppressor, and its expression is frequently downregulated in tumor tissues compared to normal adjacent tissues. These mimics function by binding to the 3' untranslated region (3'UTR) of target mRNAs, specifically Cullin 4A (CUL4A), leading to the downregulation of CUL4A mRNA and protein levels. By inhibiting CUL4A, miR-363-3p mimics can suppress cancer cell proliferation and enhance the sensitivity of NSCLC cells to chemotherapeutic agents such as gemcitabine, thereby potentially overcoming chemotherapy resistance.
