miR-367-3p mimic is a synthetic, double-stranded RNA oligonucleotide designed to simulate the biological activity of the endogenous microRNA miR-367-3p. It functions as a tumor suppressor by participating in the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression. Specifically, it binds to the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), such as RAB23, leading to their degradation or translational inhibition. In preclinical models of bladder cancer, the administration of miR-367-3p mimics has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while also enhancing the sensitivity of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents like cisplatin. This molecule represents an experimental approach in RNA-based therapeutics for oncology, aimed at restoring the levels of tumor-suppressive miRNAs that are frequently downregulated in various cancers.
