Overview

miR-382 is a tumor-suppressive microRNA being investigated as a therapeutic for glioblastoma. It acts as a master regulator by targeting and suppressing multiple oncogenic genes and pathways involved in tumor cell growth, survival, and invasion. In preclinical studies, miR-382 has demonstrated the ability to inhibit glioblastoma progression in vivo. To overcome the blood-brain barrier, researchers have developed delivery strategies using MRI-guided focused ultrasound combined with microbubbles to enhance the delivery of miR-382 to brain tumor sites. This approach aims to simultaneously inhibit multiple deregulated molecules in glioblastoma, potentially leading to more effective treatments than molecular monotherapies.
