Overview

miR-4262 antagomir is a chemically modified, single-stranded antisense oligonucleotide designed to bind to and inhibit the activity of microRNA-4262 (miR-4262). In oncological research, particularly concerning gastric cancer, miR-4262 has been identified as a tumor suppressor that negatively regulates the proto-oncogene CD163. By sequestering miR-4262, the antagomir prevents the microRNA from binding to its target mRNA, thereby increasing the expression of CD163. This inhibition leads to increased cell proliferation and invasion and decreased apoptosis in gastric carcinoma cells, making it a critical tool for studying the miR-4262/CD163 signaling axis in cancer progression.
