miR-496 mimic is a research-stage synthetic double-stranded RNA molecule designed to mimic the endogenous microRNA miR-496. In preclinical studies, particularly in gastric cancer and triple-negative breast cancer, miR-496 mimic has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and to induce apoptosis. It exerts its effects primarily by targeting LYN kinase (LYN) and suppressing the downstream AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, as well as targeting developmentally regulated endothelial cell locus 1 (Del-1/EDIL3).
