Overview
miR-515-3p agomir is a synthetic microRNA mimic (agomir) being developed by AptamiR Therapeutics for the treatment of obesity and metabolic disorders. The therapeutic is designed to supplement endogenous miR-515-3p levels, a microRNA that plays a regulatory role in adipocyte (fat cell) function and metabolic homeostasis. By mimicking the natural microRNA, the agomir aims to modulate gene expression patterns that are disrupted in metabolic disease states. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development, utilizing chemically modified and potentially PEGylated oligonucleotides to ensure stability and targeted delivery to adipose tissue.
