miR-92b-3p inhibitor is an oligonucleotide-based therapeutic designed to target and neutralize microRNA-92b-3p, which is overexpressed in glioblastoma (GBM). miR-92b-3p is associated with poor prognosis and plays a critical role in maintaining the stemness of brain tumor-initiating cells (BTICs). By inhibiting this microRNA, the drug disrupts neurosphere formation and potentially sensitizes cancer stem cells to standard chemotherapeutic agents like temozolomide. Research conducted at the University of Puerto Rico suggests that targeting miR-92b-3p represents a promising strategy to halt GBM progression and improve patient outcomes.
