Drug intelligence / Profile preview
miR-96-5p agomir is a chemically modified, double-stranded microRNA (miRNA) mimic designed to overexpress miR-96-5p in vitro and in vivo. It is primarily utilized as a research tool to investigate the physiological and pathological roles of miR-96-5p. In preclinical models, miR-96-5p agomir has been studied for its potential therapeutic effects in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where it targets forkhead box O1 (FOXO1) to regulate estrogen synthesis and granulosa cell proliferation. It has also been investigated in models of acute ischemic stroke, where it downregulates caspase-1 to inhibit pyroptosis and reduce brain damage, as well as in models of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and arsenic-induced skin cancer.
