MIR-GP1 is an experimental microRNA-based therapeutic candidate developed by Mirabilis Therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes and obesity. Utilizing microRNA technology, MIR-GP1 is designed to modulate the expression of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), thereby enhancing the body's endogenous GLP-1 signaling pathway. Unlike traditional peptide-based GLP-1 receptor agonists, MIR-GP1 aims to provide a long-acting effect on glycemic control and weight management by leveraging the body's natural regulatory mechanisms at the genetic level. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development and represents a novel approach to metabolic disease management by targeting the underlying genetic regulation of insulin sensitivity and glucose homeostasis.
