Overview

miR125b2-3p mimics are chemically synthesized double-stranded RNA molecules designed to mimic the activity of endogenous miR-125b-2-3p, a microRNA that acts as a putative tumor suppressor. In breast cancer research, particularly in hormone receptor-positive (HR+) and aromatase inhibitor-resistant breast cancer models, miR-125b-2-3p mimics have been shown to inhibit cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and mammosphere disruption. These mimics function by downregulating the expression of stemness-associated target genes, such as Integrin alpha-6 (ITGA6) and Transcription factor SOX-2 (SOX2). They are primarily utilized as research-use-only laboratory tools to investigate microRNA biology and potential therapeutic pathways in oncology.
