MIR1307 inhibitor is a research-stage antisense oligonucleotide or microRNA inhibitor designed to block the activity of miR-1307. miR-1307 is a microRNA that has been identified as a mediator of chemoresistance in various malignancies, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), breast cancer, and lung adenocarcinoma. By inhibiting miR-1307, these compounds aim to sensitize cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents like FOLFIRINOX or cisplatin. The mechanism involves preventing miR-1307 from binding to its target mRNAs, such as CLIC5, thereby modulating DNA damage response pathways and other survival mechanisms in tumor cells. Currently, these inhibitors are primarily used as laboratory tools sourced from reagent vendors like Exiqon and ThermoFisher Scientific, with no specific therapeutic candidate yet in clinical development.
