Overview

MIRA-1a is a synthetic microRNA-1a (miR-1a) analog being developed by Mira Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. Acquired through a licensing agreement with SRQ Patent Holdings II, MIRA-1a is currently in preclinical development for indications including Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, depression, and addiction. As a microRNA mimic, it is designed to modulate the expression of various genes involved in synaptic plasticity and neuronal survival, potentially offering a novel approach to restoring cognitive function and managing behavioral symptoms in patients with central nervous system disorders.
