Mirabegron + anticholinergics is a combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). Mirabegron is a selective beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes detrusor smooth muscle during the storage phase of the urinary bladder fill-void cycle, increasing bladder capacity and reducing symptoms such as urgency and frequency. Anticholinergic drugs (also called antimuscarinics) inhibit muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the bladder, reducing involuntary contractions. The combination leverages two distinct mechanisms to improve efficacy in patients who do not respond adequately to monotherapy. Clinical studies have shown that this combination can provide greater symptom control than either agent alone, with an acceptable safety profile; typical side effects are mild to moderate and include those associated with each component[2][4][5][7].
