Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mirabegron + desipramine is a combination of two small molecule drugs: mirabegron, a selective and potent **beta-3 adrenergic receptor agonist** for overactive bladder, and desipramine, a **tricyclic antidepressant** that is a substrate of the CYP2D6 enzyme and used mainly for depression and neuropathic pain. When administered together, mirabegron inhibits CYP2D6, leading to significantly increased plasma concentrations and prolonged half-life of desipramine due to reduced metabolism. This interaction elevates the risk of adverse drug reactions, especially for desipramine which has a narrow therapeutic index[1][2][4][5].
