Overview

MiraBiologics' growth hormone receptor (GHR) agonist is an agonistic monoclonal antibody designed to activate the GHR signaling pathway, mimicking the physiological role of endogenous growth hormone. Developed using the company's proprietary MirAgonist™ platform, the antibody is engineered to induce receptor dimerization or clustering upon binding, thereby triggering downstream cascades such as the JAK2/STAT5 pathway. This mechanism is intended to promote longitudinal growth and regulate protein, lipid, and carbohydrate metabolism. As a monoclonal antibody, this candidate potentially offers a significantly longer half-life than recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH), which typically requires daily administration. This long-acting profile could allow for weekly or monthly dosing, potentially improving treatment adherence and outcomes for patients with growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and related conditions.
