Miraflox

Miraflox is a brand name for ciprofloxacin, a second-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic developed and marketed by the Indonesian pharmaceutical company PT. Sampharindo Perdana. As a small molecule inhibitor, it targets bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, which are critical for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By interfering with these processes, Miraflox provides broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against various pathogens, including gram-negative bacteria like *Escherichia coli* and *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, as well as some gram-positive organisms. It is administered orally, typically as 500 mg caplets, and is indicated for a wide range of infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections (including typhoid fever), and skin, bone, or joint infections.
