Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mirivadelgat is an orally available small molecule that acts as an allosteric activator of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2), a mitochondrial enzyme. It is being developed by Foresee Pharmaceuticals primarily for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, including pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD). The drug's mechanism involves stimulating ALDH2 activity, which may provide vasodilatory, cytoprotective, and antiproliferative effects in vascular tissues. Mirivadelgat has reached phase II clinical trials for pulmonary hypertension and phase I/II for Fanconi's anaemia. Additional early-phase studies have explored its potential in cardiovascular disorders, kidney disorders, and metabolic disorders[1][2][3][5][6].
