miRNA1827 agomir is a synthetic RNA therapeutic designed to mimic the action of microRNA-1827, restoring or enhancing its biological activity in target cells. As an agomir, it is a chemically modified, stable oligonucleotide that increases the activity of endogenous miR-1827. In non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), miRNA1827 agomir was shown to inhibit platinum resistance and promote pyroptosis by targeting methyl-CpG binding domain protein 3 (MBD3). This disrupts MBD3-mediated repression of gasdermin E (GSDME), which is required for pyroptosis, thereby sensitizing tumors to platinum-based chemotherapy. miRNA1827 agomir is used in preclinical models by intratumoral injection and in combination with chemotherapies to overcome chemoresistance[1][3].
