This is a **combination of two antineoplastic agents** used experimentally (in clinical trials) for the treatment of ovarian and other gynecological cancers. - **Mirvetuximab soravtansine** is an antibody-drug conjugate targeting folate receptor alpha (FRα), delivering the cytotoxic agent DM4 (a maytansinoid) specifically to FRα-expressing tumor cells. It binds FRα, is internalized, and releases DM4 intracellularly, thereby inhibiting microtubule assembly, resulting in cell death. - **Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin** is a liposome-encapsulated formulation of doxorubicin with polyethylene glycol, which improves pharmacokinetics and reduces cardiac toxicity compared to conventional doxorubicin. Doxorubicin acts by intercalating DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, resulting in cytotoxicity in rapidly dividing cells. The combination is under investigation, especially for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. There is no unique brand or product name for this specific combination as of September 2025. Mirvetuximab soravtansine has FDA approval in monotherapy for platinum-resistant, FRα-positive ovarian cancer, but its combination with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin is still at the investigational stage.
