MirZyme ADMA pathway small molecule is an experimental small molecule therapeutic being developed by MirZyme Therapeutics for the treatment of preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction (FGR). The drug targets the asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) pathway, which is a key regulator of vascular endothelial function. ADMA is an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS); elevated levels of ADMA are associated with reduced nitric oxide bioavailability, leading to the hypertension and placental dysfunction characteristic of preeclampsia. By modulating this pathway—likely through the regulation of the enzyme dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase (DDAH) which degrades ADMA—the therapeutic aims to restore endothelial nitric oxide production and improve maternal and fetal outcomes. The program is currently in the IND-enabling/pre-clinical stage of development.
