Overview

Mitazalimab is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of CD40, a receptor expressed on dendritic cells and other antigen-presenting cells. By stimulating CD40, mitazalimab activates dendritic cells and B cells, enhancing the immune system’s ability to recognize and attack cancer cells. This activation leads to improved T cell priming and anti-tumor immune responses. Mitazalimab is being developed primarily for the treatment of pancreatic cancer (notably metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma), where it has shown promising results in combination with chemotherapy (mFOLFIRINOX) in clinical trials. The drug has received orphan drug designation for pancreatic cancer and is currently advancing toward phase III trials. Preclinical data suggest potential utility against other solid tumors as well[1][2][4][5][6][7][8].
