Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mitochondria uncoupler plus (Neurodeg) is a preclinical-stage small molecule program being developed by HighTide Therapeutics (formerly HighTide Ventures) for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. The program utilizes novel small-molecule chemical matter designed to act as mitochondrial uncouplers, which modulate mitochondrial function to reduce oxidative stress and prevent calcium overload in neurons. These mechanisms are intended to provide neuroprotective effects and potentially treat conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). As of early 2024, the program is in the discovery phase of preclinical development, distinct from the more advanced HTF1057 candidate.
