Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mitometh is a methylated homolog of mitotane, developed as an adrenalytic agent. It was studied for the treatment of adrenal cancer due to its structural similarity to mitotane, which is used in adrenocortical carcinoma. However, preclinical and clinical studies indicated that Mitometh did not demonstrate efficacy in treating adrenal cancer. Its mechanism involves targeting the adrenal cortex, but it failed to show significant therapeutic benefit in animal models and human cell lines[3].
