Mitomycin C + vindesine is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of two antineoplastic agents, mitomycin C and vindesine. Mitomycin C is an alkylating agent that acts as an antitumor antibiotic by cross-linking DNA strands, thereby inhibiting DNA synthesis and leading to cell death. Vindesine is a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation in the mitotic spindle, preventing cell division during metaphase. This combination has been studied for use in advanced cancers such as breast cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), often as part of multi-drug regimens or in patients with refractory disease[2][3]. The primary mechanism of action involves disruption of DNA replication (mitomycin C) and inhibition of microtubule assembly (vindesine), resulting in cytotoxic effects on rapidly dividing tumor cells.
