Overview

This specific multi-ingredient Chinese herbal formula (CHF) was developed by researchers at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). The formula is a combination of two classical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescriptions, Xiao-Feng-San and Zhen-Ren-Huo-Ming-Yin, supplemented with the individual herbs *Dictamnus dasycarpus* and *Houttuynia cordata*. Administered orally in capsule form, the formula is designed to modulate the immune system by regulating the levels of Th1, Th2, Th17, and Th22-related cytokines and addressing microbiome dysfunction associated with the disease. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial to assess its clinical efficacy, safety, and impact on plasma metabolites in patients with atopic dermatitis.
