Mixed Gel of Hydrocortisone and Aluminium Phosphate is a combination drug designed to prevent postoperative esophageal stenosis, a common complication after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) for large esophageal carcinoma. It combines hydrocortisone sodium succinate, a glucocorticoid, with Aluminium Phosphate Gel. The hydrocortisone component works by inhibiting local inflammatory responses and reducing the formation of connective tissue, which are key factors in stricture development. The Aluminium Phosphate Gel acts as a neutral buffer and forms a protective mucous layer in the esophagus, aiding in the restoration and protection of the esophageal mucosa. This formulation is administered orally to reduce the incidence of esophageal stricture.
