Overview

5-grass pollen allergen extract, marketed under the brand name Oralair, is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) tablet containing standardized allergen extracts from five grass species: orchard (*Dactylis glomerata*), meadow (*Poa pratensis*), perennial rye (*Lolium perenne*), sweet vernal (*Anthoxanthum odoratum*), and timothy (*Phleum pratense*). Developed by Stallergenes S.A., it is formulated at 300 index of reactivity (IR) and is administered once daily sublingually in a pre- and co-seasonal regimen. The drug acts by inducing immunological tolerance to grass pollen allergens, thereby modulating the immune system's IgE-mediated allergic response. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe seasonal grass pollen allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis in patients aged 5 to 50 years and has been approved in over 30 countries.
