Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MixIstar is an intravenous maintenance and rehydration solution developed by Halex Istar. It is a fixed-dose combination containing potassium chloride, sodium chloride, and glucose. The solution is indicated for the maintenance and restoration of normal body fluid volume and electrolyte composition, providing a source of water, essential electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and chloride), and calories (from glucose) to prevent ketosis and protein degradation. MixIstar is approved in Brazil and is available in various concentrations of sodium chloride (0.4%, 0.6%, and 0.8%) to meet individual patient hydration and electrolyte requirements.
