Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MJ04 is a novel, highly selective 3-pyrimidinylazaindole based small molecule that functions as a Janus kinase 3 (JAK3) inhibitor. It is being developed as a potential hair growth promoter. In preclinical studies, topical application of MJ04 demonstrated early onset of hair regrowth in DHT-challenged androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and athymic nude mice. Furthermore, it significantly promoted human hair follicle growth ex-vivo. MJ04 has shown a reasonably good pharmacokinetic profile and a favorable safety profile in both in vivo and in vitro conditions, making it suitable for topical drug development and advancement to human clinical trials.
