Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MJPRRS is an autogenous vaccine designed for the prevention and control of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) in swine. Originally developed by MJ Biologics, the vaccine's intellectual property and technology were acquired by Phibro Animal Health Corporation through a series of agreements starting in 2015 and concluding in 2018. As an autogenous vaccine, MJPRRS is custom-manufactured using specific viral isolates recovered from a particular farm or production site, allowing for a highly targeted immune response against the specific strains of PRRS virus (PRRSV) circulating within a specific herd. Phibro vertically integrated the production of this vaccine by acquiring MVP Laboratories, which provided the necessary manufacturing infrastructure and proprietary adjuvants. The vaccine is a key component of Phibro's swine health portfolio, addressing one of the most economically significant diseases in the global pork industry.
