Overview

MK-0887G is an investigational topical cream formulation of mometasone furoate, a synthetic corticosteroid developed by Merck Sharp and Dohme (a subsidiary of Merck & Co.). Mometasone furoate acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, providing anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive activity. MK-0887G was developed for the treatment of infected dermatoses and has been studied in Phase 1 clinical trials involving healthy volunteers to characterize its dose-duration response and skin-blanching (vasoconstrictive) profile in comparison to the reference product, Elocon.
