MK-6050 is an investigational, half-life extended trivalent nanobody being developed by Merck (known as MSD outside the U.S. and Canada) for the treatment of moderate-to-severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). As a nanobody, it is a single-domain antibody fragment that offers potential advantages over traditional monoclonal antibodies, such as enhanced tissue penetration and the ability to be engineered into multivalent formats. MK-6050 is designed to simultaneously bind and neutralize both interleukin-17A (IL-17A) and interleukin-17F (IL-17F), two pro-inflammatory cytokines that play a critical role in the chronic skin inflammation and tissue damage associated with HS. By blocking the IL-17A/F signaling pathway, MK-6050 aims to reduce the inflammatory burden and improve clinical outcomes for patients. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development.
