Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MK0767 + sulfonylurea is a combination of MK0767—a dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha/gamma (PPARα/γ) agonist—and a sulfonylurea (class of oral hypoglycemic drugs). MK0767 acts as a potent insulin sensitizer and hypolipidemic agent, activating both PPARα and PPARγ receptors to improve glycemic control and lipid metabolism. In preclinical and clinical studies, MK0767 demonstrated robust antihyperglycemic and hypolipidemic activities, and its efficacy has been evaluated in combination with sulfonylurea in type 2 diabetes. The combination targets both insulin resistance (via MK0767) and pancreatic insulin secretion (via sulfonylurea), though the development program was ultimately terminated in late-phase trials[1][3][4][9].
