MK150 is a novel 4-anilino-α-carboline derivative and a potent, selective inhibitor of protein tyrosine kinase 6 (PTK6), also known as breast tumor kinase (BRK). Developed by researchers at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the University of Greifswald, MK150 is a derivative of Tilfrinib. It has been shown to selectively inhibit PTK6 kinase activity, suppress downstream STAT3 phosphorylation, and impair both non-directional and directed migration of breast cancer cells in vitro. MK150 is primarily utilized as a preclinical research tool to investigate the role of PTK6 in tumor cell migration, dissemination, and metastasis.
