Overview

MK2-activating peptide is a preclinical-stage peptide therapeutic being developed by Akttyva Therapeutics for the treatment of vascular endothelium-related conditions and vascular leakage pathologies. The drug functions by modulating the p38 MAP kinase pathway, specifically acting as an activator of MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 2 (MK2/MAPKAPK2). By activating MK2, the peptide aims to restore endothelial barrier function and prevent the pathological leakage of fluids from blood vessels, which is a hallmark of various inflammatory and vascular diseases. The program is based on the research of Akttyva co-founder Dr. Hicham Kayyali.
