Overview

MKC1106-MT is an investigational **multicomponent therapeutic cancer vaccine regimen** developed for advanced melanoma. It combines the recombinant DNA plasmid **pMEL-TYR**, which encodes immunogenic portions of the melanoma-associated antigens Melan-A and tyrosinase, with two synthetic epitope analogue peptides, **E-MEL** and **E-TYR**. The components were delivered sequentially by ultrasound-guided intranodal injection as a plasmid-prime/peptide-boost regimen intended to generate or enhance antigen-specific CD8-positive T-cell immunity against melanoma cells expressing Melan-A and tyrosinase. A Phase 1 study reported acceptable tolerability, immunogenicity, and durable disease control with radiologic tumor regression in a subset of patients whose metastatic disease was largely confined to lymph nodes; a subsequent Phase 2 melanoma study was terminated.
