MKK-P11 is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine candidate currently in preclinical development by MAXVAX Biotechnology (Chengdu Maxvax Biopharmaceutical). It is designed to prevent infections caused by *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, a Gram-negative, opportunistic pathogen that is a leading cause of hospital-acquired infections, particularly pneumonia and bacteremia in immunocompromised individuals and chronic respiratory infections in patients with cystic fibrosis. The vaccine leverages MAXVAX's proprietary recombinant protein expression platform and is intended to be formulated with a novel adjuvant system to elicit a robust and protective immune response against the bacterium, which is characterized by high levels of antibiotic resistance.
