Overview
MKS-5 is a standardized botanical extract (phytopharmaceutical) developed by the Malaysian company Medika Natura. Derived from the medicinal plant *Orthosiphon stamineus* (commonly known as Misai Kucing), MKS-5 is being developed for several therapeutic indications. Its most advanced program is for the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTI), which has reached Phase 2 clinical trials. Additionally, the compound is undergoing Phase 1 evaluation for its potential as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent, as well as for cardiovascular applications, specifically in the management of hypertension. The extract is designed to provide a consistent, pharmaceutical-grade version of traditional herbal remedies, leveraging the plant's known diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties.
