Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ML-025 is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by MapLight Therapeutics for the treatment of sensory hypersensitivities, including hyperacusis (hearing hypersensitivity) and visual hypersensitivity. The compound is designed to modulate the indirect pathway of the basal ganglia, a neural circuit that plays a critical role in processing and filtering sensory information. Dysregulation of this pathway is associated with conditions characterized by over-sensitivity to environmental stimuli. By specifically targeting the indirect pathway, ML-025 aims to normalize sensory processing and restore circuit balance. As of early 2024, the program is in the pre-clinical stage of development.
