ML-04 is a patented oral form of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) that was under development by Milkhaus Laboratory. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of interleukin 6 and interleukin 8. The drug was being investigated primarily for benign prostatic hyperplasia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and prostatitis. More recently, a formulation called ML-004 has been investigated for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by MapLight Therapeutics, focusing on social deficit and irritability symptoms in ASD patients.
