MM-CTM is a minimally manipulated, non-viable cellular particulate derived from human placental connective tissue matrix (CTM). Developed by Celularity Inc., it is a decellularized placental biomaterial designed for the management and protection of tendon injuries. MM-CTM serves as a structural scaffold that supports tenocyte adhesion and tissue repair. In comparative preclinical studies, it has been evaluated alongside other placental-derived matrices, such as flowable (DF-CTM) and liquid (L-CTM) formats, to assess its impact on tenocyte proliferation, migration, and inflammatory responses. While MM-CTM effectively supports cell adhesion, research indicates that flowable decellularized matrices may offer enhanced tenocyte proliferation and superior immunomodulatory properties, such as the reduction of pro-inflammatory markers like CXCL8 and MMP1.
