MM-II

MM-II is a novel non-opioid investigational drug developed as an intra-articular injection for the treatment of knee pain associated with osteoarthritis. It consists of a proprietary suspension of large, empty, multilamellar liposomes (composed primarily of DPPC and DMPC) designed to lubricate arthritic knee joints, thereby reducing friction and wear. This biolubricant mechanism aims to provide durable pain relief without the use of opioids. Clinical studies have shown that a single intra-articular injection can offer significant and sustained pain reduction for up to 26 weeks with a safety profile comparable to placebo[1][2][4][5]. The product is based on technology licensed from academic institutions in Israel and has received FDA Fast Track designation for osteoarthritis knee pain[2][4].
