MMH-522 is an investigational 'release-active' therapeutic candidate developed by Materia Medica Holding for the treatment of cough. The formulation consists of ultra-low doses of affinity-purified antibodies to bradykinin, histamine, and morphine, produced through a proprietary process of repeated dilution and succussion. This 'release-active' technology is intended to modulate the functional activity of the target molecules and their respective receptors. Specifically, the drug aims to provide antitussive effects by modulating opioid receptors, while also exerting anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic actions through the inhibition of bradykinin and histamine pathways.
