Overview

MMI-0100 is a cell-permeant peptide inhibitor of mitogen activated protein kinase activated protein kinase II (MK2), also known as MAPKAP Kinase 2. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other acute fibrotic indications. The drug has demonstrated anti-fibrotic activity in multiple preclinical models including pulmonary fibrosis, vascular intimal hyperplasia, post-surgical adhesions, cutaneous scarring, and cardiac fibrosis following myocardial infarction. Its mechanism involves inhibition of MK2—a critical downstream target within the TGF-beta pathway—thereby reducing inflammation and collagen deposition associated with fibrotic diseases. MMI-0100 has shown efficacy both in preventing and treating established fibrosis in animal models. It is currently under investigation with a maximum clinical trial phase of I[1][3][5][6].
