MMP14 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-14 (MMP14), also known as Membrane Type 1-Matrix Metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP). MMP14 is a cell-surface proteolytic enzyme that plays a critical role in extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation, tumor invasiveness, and angiogenesis. In glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), high expression of MMP14 is associated with poor prognosis and the CD133+ phenotype. Preclinical research has demonstrated that genetic silencing of MMP14 via RNA interference (RNAi) leads to the inhibition of glioma cell proliferation, induction of cell cycle arrest, and downregulation of angiogenic markers. Furthermore, inhibition of MMP14 expression has been shown to potentiate the therapeutic effects of temozolomide (TMZ) and ionizing radiation in glioma cell models.
