Drug intelligence / Profile preview
mmu_circ_0002215-ASO is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) designed to target and suppress the circular RNA mmu_circ_0002215, which is the mouse homolog of human hsa_circ_0008925. Developed by researchers at Wannan Medical College, this therapeutic candidate is being investigated for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and renal fibrosis. In preclinical models of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO), the ASO is delivered specifically to injured kidneys using engineered exosomes decorated with a Kim-1-targeting LTH peptide. This targeted delivery suppresses mmu_circ_0002215 expression, leading to a reduction in renal collagen deposition, tubular injury, and alpha-SMA expression, thereby attenuating renal fibrosis.
