Overview

mMUC16-CPT113 is a preclinical antibody-drug conjugate designed to target the membrane-bound portion of MUC16 (also known as CA125), a type I transmembrane mucin frequently overexpressed in ovarian and other gynecologic cancers. By binding the cell-surface, membrane-proximal region of MUC16, the ADC aims to selectively deliver a cytotoxic payload to MUC16-expressing tumor cells while sparing normal tissue. According to company communications, it is described as the first ADC to specifically target the membrane-bound portion of MUC16, differentiating it from prior MUC16 ADCs that targeted extracellular tandem-repeat domains.[1] MUC16 is widely studied as a biomarker and therapeutic target in ovarian cancer; earlier anti-MUC16 ADCs such as sofituzumab vedotin (DMUC5754A) have shown acceptable safety with activity in MUC16-high tumors, supporting the rationale for this target class.[5][7][9]
